The story- This piece took patience and care. A labor of love. I found this dragonfly in perfect condition near a dusty busy road in a used car dealership parking lot. The owner of the shop came out and talked to me I explained why I was so excited about finding this dragonfly (electroforming), and why I was walking around aimlessly with my toddler (my car was in the shop for the next hour or two). I was in the market for a new car. He offered us coffee and a snack and let my 3 year old to play in the kids area near the lobby. I carried the dragonfly with me and kept it safe. Put it a box. Flew across the country to the east coast, where my studio used to be.. Electroformed it. Flew it back across the country. The body of the dragonfly got damaged. I flew it back across the country. Reinforced it with wire and clay, then re-electroformed it.  Then flew it back to the west coast yet again. This must be the most well traveled dragonfly to date! lol. I worked on this dragonfly for quite a while. It was ironically during a time of transformation, becoming lighter and free to be in my feminine power. Woking through emotional heart healing.. But the journey was not over. I beaded the bottom 4 different times until I was satisfied. It wasn’t until I made it through this big transformation that I finished the bead work… I picked the stones intuitively and they were all what I needed in the moment.. The dragonfly awaits the next adventure… Where will it go? Where will it live and hang. I’m so curious.

It is gorgeous! You can see every detail including the hair on the legs.
