delicious organic + fair trade cotton t-shirt is naturally dyed with flowers grown from seed in my dye garden at Mother Nurture. Each bloom was tended by hand and harvested pressed and dried at its peak, to later create a living imprint of the season. Tango cosmos flowers and leaves, dyer’s chamomile, Hopi sunflower, and pincushion flowers come together in a soft, botanical tapestry —earth-born color steamed directly into cloth.
Several of these plants carry rich dye histories. Dyer’s chamomile has been used for centuries across Europe as a traditional yellow dye, valued for its luminous, sun-washed tones. Hopi sunflower, historically cultivated by the Hopi people, was used not only as food but also as a dye plant—its seeds to yield beautiful natural grey-blue tones. These flowers continue that lineage here, honoring time-tested, plant-harvested color traditions.
Metaphysical qualities:
Cosmos – harmony, balance, joyful expression
Chamomile – calm, clarity, gentle strength
Sunflower – vitality, confidence, light
Flowers (in general) – renewal, beauty, connection
A true garden-to-garment piece, carrying both history and “made with love vibes.”
